How it works

From a pile of files to cited answers in three steps

No prompt engineering, no copy-pasting into chat windows. Add sources once and ask as many questions as you like.

  1. 01

    Add your sources

Upload PDFs and images up to 100 MB, paste notes, or drop in a YouTube or web link. Keep each project in its own workspace.

  2. 02

    Docmind reads everything

Each source is parsed, split into passages and indexed for meaning and keywords — then summarised with key points, topics and suggested questions.

  3. 03

Ask, then verify in a click

Ask in plain language. Every claim in the answer links to the exact page or excerpt it came from, so checking takes seconds.

Why Docmind

Built for answers you can actually trust

Generic chatbots sound confident whether or not they're right. Docmind is designed around evidence: find it, show it, and admit when it isn't there.

Every claim, cited

Inline markers link each sentence to the passage behind it — with page numbers for PDFs — so you can quote with confidence and spot-check in one click.

How citations work

Net revenue retention reached 118%, led by expansion in the enterprise tier1 — though the report flags rising support costs as a risk for next year2.

“…net revenue retention closed the year at 118%, driven primarily by seat expansion across enterprise accounts…”

Honest when it doesn't know

No outside knowledge, no filling gaps. If your sources don't say it, neither does Docmind.

“Which clause covers early termination?”
  1. Semantic search

    Finds passages by meaning

  2. Keyword match

    Catches exact names & numbers

  3. Fusion

    Blends both signals per document

Under the hood

A retrieval pipeline tuned for precision

Docmind is a production-grade RAG system, not a wrapper around a chat box. Here's what happens between your question and your answer.

  1. STEP 01

    Parse

Text from PDFs (with page numbers), images, transcripts and web pages.

  2. STEP 02

    Chunk

Sources are split into overlapping passages sized for precise recall.

  3. STEP 03

    Embed

Passages are embedded and stored in a Qdrant vector index scoped to your workspace.

  4. STEP 04

    Retrieve

Semantic and keyword signals are fused, so exact terms are never missed.

  5. STEP 05

    Rerank

An AI reranker keeps the strongest evidence within a strict context budget.

  6. STEP 06

    Answer

The model answers only from that evidence and cites every claim.

Use cases

For anyone whose work depends on sources

If you've ever lost an afternoon hunting for the one paragraph that proves your point, Docmind is for you.

Students & researchers

Read across dozens of papers and lectures without losing track of who said what.

How does each paper define “engagement”?

Legal & compliance

Pull clauses, obligations and dates out of long agreements with page references.

Which contracts auto-renew, and on what notice?

Product & strategy

Turn interview recordings, surveys and competitor pages into evidence-backed insight.

What are the top complaints across these interviews?

Consultants & analysts

Get up to speed on a client's world in an afternoon, not a week.

Summarise the client's stated goals with sources.

Creators & educators

Mine talks, courses and articles for the points worth teaching or writing about.

What arguments do these three talks disagree on?

Teams & knowledge bases

Give everyone one place to ask about policies, docs and past decisions.

How do we handle refunds on annual plans?

Docmind vs. generic AI chat

Confidence is easy. Evidence is the point.

Pasting a file into a chatbot gets you an answer. Docmind gets you an answer you can defend in a meeting, a paper or a client report.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Can't find what you're looking for? Get in touch and we'll help.

What kinds of sources can I add?

PDFs, images (text is extracted automatically), YouTube videos (via their transcripts), public web pages, and plain text, Markdown, CSV or JSON — uploaded as files or pasted in directly. Files up to 100 MB are supported.

Will Docmind make things up?

Docmind is built to answer only from the sources in your workspace. Every factual claim is cited back to a numbered source. If your sources don't contain the answer, it tells you so instead of guessing.

How are citations shown?

Answers include inline markers like [1] and [2]. Each one links to the exact excerpt it came from — including the page number for PDFs — so you can verify any claim in a click.

Can I choose which documents an answer uses?

Yes. Every ready source has a toggle, so you can include or exclude documents from a conversation's context without deleting anything.

How is Docmind different from pasting a document into a chatbot?

Docmind indexes your sources once, then uses hybrid semantic and keyword retrieval with reranking to find the most relevant passages across all of them. That means it scales past context-window limits and stays tied to your material.

Is my data private?

Your documents are stored in your workspace and are only used to answer your questions — never to train models. Enterprise teams can self-host Docmind with their own storage and vector database.

Your sources already have the answers. Start asking.

Create a workspace, drop in your first document and get a cited answer in under a minute.
